It shall be the mission of the Life Settlement Institute to promote and encourage:

• Knowledge and awareness of insurance and financial planning professionals of the life settlement industry

• Awareness of life insurance policyowners, insurance and/or financial professionals of the option of obtaining more value for their policies than otherwise would be available from the issuing life insurance carrier

• Development of the use of institutional financing in the life settlement industry

• Laws and regulations that foster the use of such institutional financing

• Prevention of fraudulent or dishonest life settlement transactions
